Roofing Products that Resist Hail

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010

I recently wrote about the importance of roofing material that is hail resistant. Well few roofs if any would have held up to the record setting hail stone that fell in the Aberdeen, South Dakota area a couple of weeks ago. It measured over 8 inches in diameter and weighed about 1.9 pounds. But it is cool reminder that we need to try and protect our roofs by using products that can resist the average hail storm better.  It means durability and helps to keep our insurance rates down and it is more green. For more information on the big stone visit  http://voices.washingtonpost.com/capitalweathergang/2010/08/hailaceous_south_dakota_hailst.html Then check out

http://www.roofhelp.com/HailDamage/hailproofroofs.htm for some more information on roofs and hail. The time to get educated is before we need the degree.

So hail hail stay away, let it be a gentle rain.
